Let TAPE Collective digitize your home media!

We care about individual, familial, and community memory. Our memory-work involves providing affordable preservation services and access to the tools needed to view and care for home made media.

Our low-cost and free digitization services for magnetic media are open to the public and exist to counter the exploitative home movie digitization market. Unlike most organizations, we offer affordable preservation for tape-based home media that is up to archival standards and educational in the process.

We are not a typical vendor and cannot promise a turn around time, but typically one batch of tapes takes about 2 weeks.

Our standard rate is $5 an hour of transferred footage. Please let us know if this price is out of your budget and we can work within a pay-what-you-can donation model.

If we encounter mold on your tapes we are happy to provide a necessary cleaning before transferring for an extra fee.
